Enamel pins are a type of pin commonly used in sewing and embroidery works. They get their name from the enamel on top. These pins are used to thread the needle by one end, and to secure the thread using the head on the other end. There is a small lid under the head, and the thread is passed underneath this lid to be placed on the needle. Afterwards, the lid is closed, locking the thread inside the needle. This way, the thread does not easily come out of the needle and the sewing process becomes easier and more regular. Enamel pins are particularly practical and functional, especially when used in delicate works and embroidery.
