Budino Darkstone is part of Atelier Emine’s Crystal Gelato Couture collection; it is a top-handle pouch bag design approached with a single-piece couture mindset offering a sculptural blend of textile and crystal craftsmanship.
The outer surface of the bag is entirely handcrafted using 8 mm standard round-cut optical-grade crystal beads with a multi-layered cage weaving technique of high-strength monofilament fishing line. The crystals are placed at controlled intervals throughout the surface, creating a sense of depth as light reflections concentrate at certain points.
The crystal weaving is designed to wrap around a silky textured textile pouch structure. The soft-textured fabric used in the inner pouch provides volume control through a gathered top structure, while the crystal cage serves as a protective and aesthetic structure defining the outer form of the bag.
The crystal woven top-handle at the top is ergonomically sized for carrying by hand, integrating seamlessly with the body to enhance the monoblock character of the design. The textile drawstrings on the sides enable the opening and closing of the pouch structure, integrated as a decorative element in the form language.
Budino Darkstone offers a fluid yet controlled structure functioning without a closing mechanism; it works through the natural balance principle of the textile gathering system and crystal cage. This approach emphasizes the design's couture and functional identity.
